Chelsea on the verge of losing one of their best players

According to the latest reports, it is far from certain that Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois will sign a new contract with the Premier League champions.

Courtois only has 18 months left on his current contract and is refusing to discuss an extension until the end of the season, a situation that the club is not too happy with.

The Belgium goalkeeper wants at least £200,000 per week and to date, Chelsea have yet to agree to his demands, he is currently on a wage of £100,00 per week.

However, the feeling at Stamford Bridge is that even if they did match his demands he may still not sign on the dotted line.

One of the biggest problem for the 25-year-old is that while he is himself settled in London his two young children continue to live in Madrid.

It is no secret that Real Madrid is interested in signing Courtois and considering his family situation and the fact that the European champions will pay him what he wants then the chances of him staying at Chelsea are receding fast.
