Reports from Italy are claiming the Inter Milan are closing in on a deal to sign Chelsea target, Domenico Berardi.
The Blues have been scouting the youngster since last season, and are planning to make a move for him when the transfer window opens this summer.
Berardi rejected a move to Juventus last summer as he suspected he would have limited opportunities to play there, and he is now valued at £25 million.
Inter Milan sporting director, Piero Ausilio is a firm admirer of the Italy Under-21 star, and by recently extending Ausilio’s contract until 2020, they are showing that they are ready to pursue their interest in the 22 year old.
Berardi has scored 26 Serie A goals for Sassuolo since the summer of 2013.
Despite their interest in the player, Inter Milan are unwilling to meet the £25 million that Sassuolo wants for Berardi. They are afraid of the implications of breaking the Financial Fair Play rules, as they are yet to break even.
Chelsea have no fears of breaking any Financial Fair Play rule, however it seems the player would prefer to remain in Italy for now.
