Chelsea ready to go back to Leicester City for second high profile signing
Leicester City Danish goalie kasper Schmeichel has been shortlisted as a possible replacement for Thibaut Courtois if he leaves for Real Madrid this summer.
According to media, Chelsea have started planning for life after the Belgian. He has already been scouted by Real Madrid this season and could make the switch to the Spanish capital if they fail to land their number one target, David De Gea.
Chelsea are happy with their business with Leicester last season, where they landed N’golo Kante, who has been very impressive for them for £32 Million.
Following reports that Real Madrid have shifted their attention from De Gea to the Belgium number one, Chelsea have started making plans to fill the void that will inevitably be left behind by the big Belgian.
They are also planning for a new backup goalie, with Asmir Begovic likely to move to Bournemouth. David Stockdale of Brighton has been muted as a possible option.
If Courtois did move, it would be a big blow to Chelsea’s quest to defend the Premier League title which is most likely heading to the Bridge this season.
