Chelsea has relaxed their stance on letting Nemanja Matic reunite with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, but the Red Devils will not sign him for a low price.
The Blues are still unhappy with the manner in which Jose Mourinho signed Romelu Lukaku from under their noses this summer, but they have decided to allow Matic join him.
Roman Abramovic wants to fulfil the player’s wish as a thank you gift for helping Chelsea win two Premier League titles, just like he allowed Petr Cech to move to Arsenal.
Matic is also interesting Juventus and the Blues may demand a lesser fee from the Italians but have decided to offer him to Manchester United for £50 million. This high price is said to be “Lukaku tax” as they seek to get back to Mourinho for signing Lukaku ahead of them.
Manchester United have already made an offer of £35 million for the Serbian but that is not adequate and they are expected to make another offer soon.
Matic was left at home while the rest of his team mates travelled for preseason, and Conte expects him to have joined a new team by the time they arrive for the new campaign.
