An Italian source is claiming that Mattia De Sciglio is set to leave AC Milan after talks of a new deal has been put on hold. Juventus are set to take advantage of the situation and sign the player, but will now have to fight off Chelsea if the hope to get his signature.
De Sciglio is a product of AC Milan’s academy and made his debut in 2011. However, his career has not progressed as well as he would have wanted it, despite having a phenomenal debut campaign with the Rossoneri.
His reputation was given a major boost by his performance for Italy in the Euros where he was instrumental in his countries run to the quarter finals. This also helped him reclaim his place in Milan’s starting lineup.
He has played 20 times in Serie A this season, while contributing an assist to the club’s campaign.
This however has not affected his contract renewal, after discussions stalled and both camps are currently not keen on resuming talks.
With only one year left on his contract after this season, he is likely going to be on the move, with Chelsea and Juventus ready to swoop, he might just end up in the Premier League.
