Chelsea is reported to have been rebuffed by Italian side Torino in their bid to sign Andrea Belotti, according to the latest transfer rumours.
Chelsea was reported to be ready to table a bid in the region of £63 million for the 23-year-old but was informed that nothing less than the release clause of £88 million will be accepted.
Chelsea believed that they could persuade Torino to sell, however, that belief appears to have been misplaced.
Torino is not open to allowing Belotti to leave and it will take Chelsea meeting the release clause to secure the attackers signature.
If Chelsea was to lose against Tottenham this weekend then there is every likelihood that the Premier League champions will go back in with a bid of £88 million, desperate situations require desperate remedies. If they win then everything may not seem as bad as it did on the opening weekend.
Belotti has been integral to Torino and the last thing will want is to him depart this summer.
Belotti moved to Torino from Palermo back in 2015, he has made 70 first team appearances and scored 38 goals for the Turin outfit.
