Chelsea have reportedly had a bid for Italy and Juventus star Claudio Marchisio, rejected by the Old Lady of Turin.
The Blues manager Antonio Conte is keen on bringing in some of the players that helped him achieve success when he was the manager of Juventus.
After being frustrated by Juventus with regards to his move for Leonardo Bonucci, he is now targeting a move for Marchisio.
According to the media, the Blues made a bid of £17 million for the player, however they were turned down by Juventus who informed them that they had no plans to let him go just yet.
Marchisio is frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities at Juventus, and is reportedly keen on making a move to Chelsea. He is said to have spoken to Conte during the international break and was impressed by the project the Italian manager is carrying out in London.
However, it is possible that Chelsea will only offer Marchisio a one year deal as their contract policy states. The Italian is already over 30, and Conte would find it hard to convince the club’s board to offer more than a year’s deal
