Chelsea are thought to be scouting Hoffenheim defender Jeremy Toljan, as they hope to add more wing back options to their playing staff.
According to goal.com, Chelsea sent their scouts once again to monitor the youngster in Germany’s under 21’s games against England and Portugal during the international break.
The German first came to the attention of Chelsea’s coach, Antonio Conte during his last season as manager of Juventus, and he instructed scouts to monitor the player as soon as he arrived at Chelsea.
The 22 year old is also said to be attracting the attention of Italian giants, Napoli.
He is adept at playing from right or left wing back, which is why the Chelsea manager believes that he would fit into his preferred 3-4-3 position.
The player’s contract expires in the summer of 2018, and this means Chelsea can land him for a cut-price at the end of this season.
Chelsea are in need of cover for first choice wing backs, Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses, although he may also be sent out on loan to an English team, so he can get a feel of how the league is as well as gaining valuable first team experience.
