Premier League champions, Chelsea have spread their transfer search across to the Netherlands and are considering a move for Ajax centre-back, Davinson Sanchez.
The Colombian has had a very good season after joining the Dutch giants from Athletico Nacional last summer. He has helped Ajax challenge Feyenoord for the Dutch league title as well as propel them to the Europa League final where they will face Manchester United.
The 20 year is considered by Chelsea coach Antonio Conte as an easier transfer option to PSG’s Marquinhos who would likely leave Paris for more than £60 million with Manchester United leading the chase for his signature.
Conte is looking for a credible replacement for the outgoing John Terry and believes Sanchez, who has played 45 matches this season, has the talent and personality to be a long-term replacement for the former England captain.
The Blues were very fortunate with injuries this season, but Conte does not want to take the risk of not having adequate cover for each position next season as they challenge for four major trophies.
