Cesar Azpilicueta has admitted that the morale in the Chelsea dressing room is low following yet another disappointing result.
It is now three weeks since the Premier League champions last won and it seems that it is now beginning to affect the players’ confidence.
Speaking to the Standard after the 3-3 draw with Roma in the Champions League game, Azpilicieta said
“The mood at the moment is not the best,” the Spaniard admitted.
“To come back into the game to get a point is big for the team, to show the character and that we won’t give up. We had the game in our hands when we were 2-0 up, but we also had it lost when we were 3-2 down.”
Chelsea host Watford in the early game on Saturday and will be looking to avoid a third successive defeat, something that Azpilicueta acknowledged.
“The reality is we have gone three games without a win and we will try to get back to winning ways on Saturday,”
“It is true we are not in our best moment. We came into the game after two consecutive defeats in the Premier League.”
The question really is, will his teammates respond and get back to winning ways?
