Chelsea still happy to pay a huge amount to land primary target

Chelsea is moving ahead with plans to sign Juventus left-back, Alex Sandro. The Brazilian has been attracting the interest of the Blues since the end of the last season after helping Juventus reach the Final of the UEFA Champions League.

Sandro is one of the best wing backs in the world right now, and Antonio Conte wants him to come and take up the left wingback position in his team.

The Blues are so desperate that reports claim they are willing to pay £60 million for his signature, making him the world’s most expensive defender in the process.

However, Juventus are unwilling to sell and have offered the Brazilian a new contract worth £84,000 per week. This offer though dwarfs Chelsea’s offer which is believed to be more than £100,000 per week. Juventus are also hoping that signing Danilo from Real Madrid would help them convince him to stay.

Chelsea hopes to hold another round of talks with Juventus this week to see if they can reach a favourable compromise.

Antonio Conte returns for preseason this weekend and would be hoping to get at least one of his transfer targets.
