Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has issued the standard statement that players release when subjected to transfer rumours, insisting he is happy with his current club, according to the latest reports.
Nainggolan is a top talent and has been on the wanted list of many of Europe’s top clubs, which right now include Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.
The 29-year-old has long been coveted by the Blues with Antonio Conte revealing how he has tried to sign the Belgian international in the past.
But Chelsea is not the only club determined to land the midfielder, Athletico Madrid is hot on his heels with their manager Diego Simeone, describing Nainggolan as extraordinary, or more accurately he would be an extraordinary signing for his team.
With two huge clubs making their feeling public it has prompted Nainggolan to state
“These are lovely words, but I am focused on Roma,”
“I think I made the choice I was happy with last year and the year before.
“I am happy to represent this team, I live happily off the field and I see absolutely no reason to change that.
“It’s an honour for me to wear the armband, following the likes of Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi and Alessandro Florenzi.”
That is all standard fare, I am happy, no reason to change and so on, we have heard it all before so do not be surprised if he is sold this winter.
