Chelsea has begun preparing for life after Diego Costa, as they look to land Bayern Munich’s top scorer Robert Lewandoski.
The Blues manager Antonio Conte has informed Costa that he does not feature in his plans for next season, and this means the Blues have to replace him. Conte’s relationship with Costa has been rocky since the Brazil-born Spain international had his head turned by a mega offer from China.
Lewandoski scored more than 40 goals for Bayern Munich last season, with 30 of those coming from just league matches. He is however unhappy at the Allianz Arena after accusing his teammates of not doing enough to help him win the top scorer gong which was won by Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Blues are hoping to capitalise on his unhappiness and clinch a deal for the attacker. Lewandoski is one of the most deadly goal scorers in Europe right now, having scored at least 20 league goals in each of the past five seasons.
Chelsea has had a quiet postseason so far but would love to kick start their summer spending with a big name signing and Lewandoski looks like the first star they would sign.
