Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay has revealed that the club will be doing business in the summer and expects to see two or three new arrivals at the club with Malaga starlet Isco, Atletico Madrid’s Radamel Falcao and Napoli’s Edinson Cavani top of the shopping list.
Owner Roman Abramovich is adamant he wants to make a marquee signing to help Chelsea re-establish as a powerhouse in the domestic and European game.
Gourlay told Chelsea’s official website: “When you look at the last three or four transfer windows, we have continued to invest in the team and the philosophy of the football club is based on success on the field.
“We will continue to strengthen the team and I am expecting the introduction of two or three new players and hopefully they will be in place in time to be part of the team in Thailand.” (Daily Express)
The blues will also see a few stars leave in the summer as they try and make room for the new arrivals and it will be very interesting to see just who they bring in as the three top targets would cost over a £100 million to acquire.
