There has been some reports on the Metro website which have revealed that Chelsea are preparing to offer midfielder Frank Lampard a new one-year deal.
The club could offer similar terms to the England midfielder’s current terms – once they have finally announced the appointment of a new manager in the summer, claims the Independent.
And that could well be Jose Mourinho after his blatant come-and-get-me plea following Real Madrid’s failure to make the Champions League final on Tuesday night.
Former Blues boss Mourinho would be happy to link up again with Lampard, a key player in his previous trophy-laden spell at the club. (The Metro)
Lampard is ever so close to becoming the clubs all-time leading scorer and he will look to break it this season just in case he has to leave. But if Mourinho comes, then that will surely mean that Frank stays for another year.
