Chelsea to see Spaniard sacked early, as Pellegrini on is way?

It has been reported that Chelsea could get rid of Rafael Benitez earlier than the end of the season after his rant and bring in Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini, who is the favourite to take the top job.

Benitez launched a stinging attack at the fans in his post-match conference after Chelsea beat Middlesbrough to book their place in the FA Cup quarter-final.

Owner Roman Abramovic may decide to accelerate Benitez’s departure following his rant.

“Chelsea and other clubs have asked, but only through intermediaries, nothing official,” Pellegrini’s agent Jesus Martinez told Chilean paper El Mercurio.

“Manuel would love to coach in the English Premier League, as he would in Germany, Italy and other important leagues.” (Daily Express)

It is clear that Benitez is holding on by a thread and many fans cannot wait to see the back of him. So if they do not get the results in the next few games, the blues could see another change at Stamford Bridge.
