Top Chelsea target Emerson Palmieri is reportedly set to fly to London and complete a medical and agree on personal terms, according to the latest rumours.
Roma star Palmieri has emerged as a top target for Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, who is keen to expand his defensive options.
Conte has been looking for competition for Marcos Alonso at left back and believes that Palmieri is just the player to do that.
The latest reports are claiming that a deal is set to be completed within the next 48 hours providing that there is nothing of concern in the medical and that terms with the 23-year-old can be agreed.
Palmieri is valued at £20 Million, a figure that Chelsea is happy to pay for a player that has the potential to become a world-class defender.
The 23-year-old will cost around £20m.
Roma sporting director Monchi has more or less confirmed that the youngster is set to depart the Italians giants saying,
“Whatever will be will be.
“I work every day to have players suitable to replace our players, my job is always to strengthen my club.”
