Loaned out Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen, has impressed Antonio Conte so much that the Italian wants him back at Stanford Bridge.
Loan club Borussia Monchengladbach have confirmed that they have failed in their bid to land the Dane on a permanent deal from Chelsea.
The player has been on loan at the German club for the past two seasons, and has made 71 appearances for them, winning the club’s player of the year last season.
The 20 year old was not expected to be such a big hit when the Blues sanctioned his move abroad two years ago, but has certainly proved his doubters wrong with his performances in Germany so far.
Conte has given opportunities to some promising youngsters at the club since his arrival and is said to have been impressed with how the Danish defender has developed at Gladbach.
The Italian has informed the club that he intends to add the defender to his plans for next season. Gladbach Sporting director Max Eberl, has confirmed that Christensen will return to Chelsea next season after confirming the sale of Mahmoud Dahoud to Dortmund.
