Chelsea target Antonio Candreva will “absolutely” not be joining the Blues this summer. The 30 years old Italy international has been on the radar of Blues boss Antonio Conte, who was looking to make him his first choice right full back ahead of Victor Moses.
Conte is keen to add a new full back to his team and lost out to the Manchester City on the signing of Danilo, while the transfer of Alex Sandro from Juventus looks to be off also. Conte had turned to Candreva with hopes that his former suitors, Inter Milan would be willing to allow the winger join him in London.
Reports earlier this week claimed the Blues were closing in on the deal, with Candreva equally keen to swap the San Siro for Stamford Bridge, but his manager has clarified the player’s future.
According to Luciano Spaletti, Candreva who scored 6 goals and provided 10 assists as well as playing in all of Inter’s 38 games last season, will be going nowhere. He reiterated the fact that the club would not sell any of their key players this summer ahead of a new season which they hope to return to the top of Serie A.
