Chelsea are bracing themselves for a bid for one of their best youngsters, Andreas Christensen. The Dane has been impressive since joining Borussia Monchengladbach on a two-year loan deal.
He is set to return to Stamford Bridge this summer, and earlier reports had claimed that the Blues will not allow him go out on loan again, because Antonio Conte has added him as part of his plans for next season. But it now appears that the Blues would rather invest in top professionals as they hope to stay competitive next season.
Turkish giants Fenerbahce are believed to hold the strongest interest in the player. They are planning for life after Simon Kjaer, who has attracted the interest of some top European teams this season. They believe that Christensen, who is the defensive partner of Simon Kjaer in the Demark national team, is well placed to replace his compatriot.
Chelsea have asked Christensen to return to London for a first hand assessment by his manager. If Conte feels the 21 year old needs more time away to get further first team experience, he may end up at his current loan club, Gladbach.
