With Swansea close to being relegated from the Premier League, it is expected that clubs would have started looking at their star men and try to poach them this summer. This is the case with Gylfi Sigurdsson. The Iceland midfielder is one of the most consistent players in the Premier League.
Despite his club’s struggle with Premier League survival, he has managed to stand out with amazing performances of his own. The former Spurs player has managed to score 8 times this season.
He has attracted the interest of several top clubs, but it seems Everton are favourites to land him. The Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is a keen admirer of the midfielder’s undoubted talent, and he has earmarked him as a capable addition to his squad.
Sigurdsson is more of an attacking midfielder, but Koeman believes if he is given the responsibility to score goals for his team, he would not fail in that capacity.
West Ham are also in the running for the midfielder, but with Everton closer to the top of the table and a European place almost assured within the next two season, Sigurdsson would choose Merseyside over London.
