Reports have revealed that Fankaty Dabo has signed a new, long-term deal with Chelsea.
London-born Dabo, who’s been with Chelsea since the U12 level, had just a few months left on his first professional deal that he signed in 2013.
The new contract ties him to the club for a couple more years, giving him time to take that next developmental step.
Now Dabo, 19, has been challenged by Chelsea youth coach Adi Viveash to prove that he can make the jump to first team level.
As quoted on the Chelsea sit, Viveash said: “Fankaty has had some very good performances with us in the Under-21s this season and hopefully this gives him the confidence to go on and progress further.
“I still don’t think we’ve seen his full potential so the next stage for him now is to finish the season strongly and make sure he’s ready for his next test.”
