James Wilson is reportedly set to get a new contract from Manchester United, according to the Daily Star website.
The 19-year-old striker enjoyed abreakthrough campaign at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal – scoring twice in 17 appearances.
And reports have claimed he will put pen to paper on a new United deal – with previous reports suggesting a 1,900 per cent pay rise is on the table.
Former United striker Andy Ritchie has implored the England Under-20 international to seek a temporary move away.
Ritchie said: “If Willo was kept at the football club as a third option in attack, I think that would be great, but – and this is only my opinion – I don’t think playing Under-21s football will further his career.
“I think that’s probably too easy for him. He needs a bigger challenge and if he plays in the Championship next season he’ll certainly get that challenge.”
