Chelsea can secure the signing of Antoine Griezmann this summer with an ‘extraordinary’ offer, according to Spanish football expert Graham Hunter.
The Blues are believed to be keen on signing the French forward this summer but Atletico are reluctant to let the 24-year-old go having only signed him from Real Sociedad in 2014.
And Hunter still believes Chelsea can sign the forward this summer – but only if they approach debt-ridden Atletico with a large offer.
As quoted on the Sky Sports website, he said: “Antoine Griezmann is exceptional and would set the Premier League alight,’ said Hunter.
‘This is a really talented, quick and robust young footballer. The price will have to be extraordinary because neither Simeone or Atletico want to let him go.
‘Chelsea have the power to buy him though. If they go all-in they have the power to take him from a club which is more than €500m in debt and trying to pay for a new stadium.
‘Griezmann is not pushing to get out, but the fact remains the economic power at Chelsea is such that, if they want him, they can prise him away.
‘Atletico have already signed two big strikers [Luciano Vietto and Jackson Martinez] maybe they are preparing for the inevitable?’
