Arsenal fans can now rest knowing that their star full back, Hector Bellerin is not going to join FC Barcelona as first feared. The Catalans have been aggressively pursuing a deal for their academy graduate who left Spain at the age of 16 for an adventure in English football.
Bellerin has developed into one of the best full backs in the world, and just like they re-signed Cesc Fabregas, the Catalans thought they could sign him this summer.
But the Gunners have stood their ground that he is going nowhere despite the player secretly flirting with the idea.
Bellerin signed a new six and a half years deal with the Gunners last winter which has placed them in a strong negotiating position this summer, and they are willing to use that power to keep him engaged at the Emirates.
FC Barcelona appears to have given up, as they have announced the signing of Nelson Semedo from Benfica. They are hopeful that he would do better than Aleix Vidal whom they signed last summer in their bid to fill the huge void left by the departure of Dani Alves.
