Former Chelsea star Michael Essien has urged Manchester United to complete a deal for Inter Milan star Nemanja Vidic.
The 33-year-old Serbian left Old Trafford at the end of last season after his contract expired, penning a deal with Inter in the process.
However, a poor start to his career at the San Siro has seen him linked with a return to Manchester.
And Essien admits that United are desperately missing the qualities that Vidic brings to a back-line.
As quoted on the Daily Express website, Essien said: “I think Vidic is being missed by United because things are not really going well for them, especially when it comes to their defence.
“He is a top guy and a really good defender. He gives everything and puts his body down for every tackle. It will be good to face him in another league.”
