Chelsea fans would be cursing their luck after losing Dominic Solanke to Liverpool this summer as the England youth international continues to shine for the Reds in Preseason.
Solanke scored his second goal in the preseason, a looping header over Hertha Berlin’s goalkeeper, to open the scoring for the Red’s in their 3-0 victory over the Germans.
He was with Chelsea for over three seasons, where he continually put in impressive performances for their youth teams but was continually overlooked by the managers of the Blues senior team.
His performances for the Reds this summer has made many to question Chelsea’s youth promotion system.
Along with Solanke, Bertrand Traore, Nathaniel Chalobah and Nathan Ake have all left the Blues permanently this summer for more first team opportunities.
Blues boss Antonio Conte has accused them all of being too impatient and believes they would all get their opportunities if they can just be a little patient.
Solanke hopes his performances for Liverpool so far will see him given more opportunities by Jurgen Klopp when the season kicks into full gear.
