Ever since Unai Emery replaced Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, pundits and former players have been giving their opinions on who the former Paris St Germain manager should recruit and the latest to offer a view is former Gunner Anders Limpar.
According to Limpar, the player Emery should be going after is RB Leipzig winger Emil Forsberg.
Now, it has obviously passed Limpar by that Arsenal are well stocked up front and that it is the midfield and defence that is in urgent need of strengthening, but when you can get in the press with a viewpoint then any old opinion will do.
Speaking to football.london. Limpar said: “If we get Emil Forsberg, we will be so lucky.
“He’s the biggest prospect we have in Europe. He has been really good in the Bundesliga and has been outstanding for the national side.
“If we get him, we would get a hell of a player who could produce points with assists and goals.
“Please God, we should sign him straight away – if we can.
“Emil would fit right in at Arsenal. He is so mobile, he can pass the ball and put assists up. He is one of the better players I have seen here in Sweden in many years, if you take Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] away. He is a really good prospect.”
Forsberg has clearly been playing well for Leipzig and is an undoubted talent, but Arsenal need balance and Emery along with Sven Mislintat and Raul Sanllehi know what is required for the squad and it probably does not involve another forward.
It is unlikely this will happen regardless of what Limpar wants.
