There has been some rumours emerge which have claimed Arsenal were lining up a surprise summer move to try and bring back one of their former stars, as he has been mightily impressive at his new club. But Real Sociedad striker Carlos Vela does not want to make a return to the Gunners at the end of the season.
Arsenal inserted a buy-back clause in his deal and reports have suggested that Wenger could take up that option at the end of the season.
The Mexico striker admits he will never forget the opportunity that Wenger gave him, but says he wants to stay at Real Sociedad.
Vela told Spanish news international agency EFE: “Arsenal are a big team who gave me the opportunity to play in Europe. I will always remember that, but I didn’t have the opportunities that I felt I deserved.
“I am very happy here [at Real Sociedad] and would like to stay here.” (TalkSport)
The lad has been impressive so far this season and has hit twelve goals, so it would be a shame if he made the move back to the Emirates to sit on the bench. So even though Arsene Wenger may want him back, there is no point in buying a player that has no desire to play for them.
