Arsenal’s search for a new attacker goes on after they reportedly had a bid for AS Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe rejected. The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is still in France and has turned his attention to the signing of another French attacker.
Lyon’s striker Alexandre Lacazette, is the striker the Gunners believe can fire them to a title challenge next season. Lacazette has been scoring at least 20 league goals per season, over the past few years.
As the rumours concerning his future heat up, The Independent is claiming that Arsenal is close to agreeing on a deal with Lyon for his signature. Lyon is adamant that they would only let him go if their £57m valuation of him is met.
This figure is unlikely going to stop the Gunners who have a point to prove to both their playing staffs and fans.
Meanwhile, Olivier Giroud is in talks with Lyon over a move back home. The French man was reduced to a squad player this season after Alexis Sanchez proved to be a good attacker in the team.
