Wednesday’s 3-0 win over West Ham, provided Arsenal fans an opportunity to smile, and get optimistic about the future. Their club had been in such poor form that a draw in that game would still be regarded as a respectable result.

However, this joy may be short-lived as reports coming from France has indicated that Marseille are planning a summer swoop for two of Arsenal’s key players, Olivier Giroud and Laurent Kolscieny.

French side Marseille are rebuilding under their new American owner who hope to take the club back to the top of French football.

Olivier Giroud has been a bit part player in the team this season, but has come off the bench to make an impact in most of the club’s games this season. His future is unclear and may leave the Gunners for regular first team football this summer.

But Laurent Kolcieny is a core member of this Arsenal team, his leadership, and disciplined approach to defending is one of the reasons why Arsenal are less Vulnerable when he plays. Despite the fact that the Gunners want to overhaul their squad, it is unlikely that they would let Koscielny go.
