Bayern Munich have given Manchester United a boost in their chase for Real Madrid star Sami Khedira.
The Germany international is up for grabs at the end of the season after turning down the offer of a new deal from Real Madrid, and has been tipped to make a switch to the Premier League.
However, it was reported earlier in the day that Bundesliga champions Bayern had won the race to Khedira’s signature after agreeing a lucrative pre-contract.
Despite the gossip, Bayern have stepped in to deny that Khedira is set to join Pep Guardiola’s side.
As quoted on the Daily Express website, Bayern’s press officer Marcus Hoerwick said: “These [Khedira] rumours are definitely not real.”
