German giants plotting a summer transfer raid on Tottenham and Arsenal

German news sources are awash with reports of a Bayern Munich raid on Premier League’s teams. Bayern are known for poaching the best players of their local rivals, but have now set their sights on doing the same away from home.

According to Bild, the Bavarians are planning to raid Arsenal for contract rebel Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean has rejected Arsenal’s offer of a new contract as he insists that he wants nothing less than £300,000 per week, a figure the Gunners are not prepared to meet. Bayern believe that they can prise him away from the Gunners for just £25 million, and he would be interested in playing alongside Arturo Vidal.

They also want to sign Tottenham’s Kyle Walker as a replacement for Philip Lahm who has confirmed he will retire from football after this season. Walker is one of the best defenders in England and is contracted to Spurs until the summer of 2021, and would likely not leave for a cheap transfer fee.

Interestingly, the reports claim that Bayern Munich are willing to offer only £15 million for Kyle Walker. It would be interesting to see if that would be enough to tempt Tottenham to sell.
