Liverpool centre back Dejan Lovren, has insisted that he is very happy at Liverpool and hopes to sign a contract extension with the club. Lovren has agreed to reopen contract talks with Liverpool after initially stalling on a new deal.
The 27 year old made his long awaited return to Liverpool’s starting lineup in their game against Everton last weekend and confirmed afterwards that talks of a new deal was ongoing between the club and his representatives.
According to him, negotiations are progressing and hopefully by the next one month the deal will have been signed. He acknowledged that it was not easy when he first signed for the club, with some sections of the crowd thinking he was an expensive flop after his first season. However, he has put in some great displays that has seen his doubters turned into admirers. Now he wants to remain at the club for the foreseeable future.
Lovren is happy to be back after his injury nightmare following a bad tackle by Ross Barkley in the Merseyside derby last year.
