After their (Wales) impressive European Championship 2016 group qualifiers, former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has spoken out on the three Welsh international players he feels could and would’ve just walked into the England set up.
Redknapp is firm in his belief that the trio of Aaron Ramsey, Ashley Williams and Gareth Bale, could walk straight into any England XI after all 3 have displayed fantastic performances for their respective clubs, and with Wales on the verge of qualifying for Euro 2016.
“I am sure Wales will now reach Euro 2016 and they will be a threat to anyone at the tournament. In Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Ashley Williams, they have three players who, for me, would walk straight into the England team.
“I love Ramsey; he is a fantastic talent, while Williams is a real leader and winner. Then we come to Gareth Bale. I think he stands now with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suárez as one of the best four players in the world.”
For obvious reasons, Gareth Bale currently plying his trade with Real Madrid is the main name and focus for Wales and their fans, but Ramsey would certainly not look out of place within the England set up had things been different, the only one who I think might be a dubious is William’s of Swansea – who I believe is probably not in the same mould as some of the England defenders already selected by England manager Roy Hodgson.
