Highly-prized African star says goodbye after packing bags and heading to Chelsea

Christian Atsu has said goodbye to Everton as he returns to Chelsea.

The Ghanaian winger made just five Premier League starts for the Toffees, clocking up a measly 113-minutes of action.

But despite his unsuccessful stint, Atsu has thanked the club, staff and his team-mates for their support.

He wrote on his official Twitter account: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Everton for making me feel welcome during my time there this season.

“The fans, the staff, my teammates have all been very supportive. I’m sorry that things didn’t work out for me.

“But I must look forward and am keen to take the next step in my football career. God bless everyone.”
