With the news that Tottenham Hotspur have won the race to sign Lewis Holtby form Schalke in the summer, there were many question on why he snubbed Arsenal and chose there rivals. But there have been reports he did that because the White Hart Lane outfit have a ‘insanely good’ manager.
The 22-year-old Schalke midfielder has agreed a £67,000-a-week deal to move to Tottenham in the summer.
With many asking why he preferred White Hart Lane to Champions League football he said: “[Tottenham] are not a small club and have an insanely good manager.”
Holtby could yet move within this window after the German club indicated they’d be keen to do a deal to prevent him leaving for nothing. (Daily Mirror)
The midfielder ha bags of talent and tons of ability and Spurs have got a real bargain in acquiring the young man. But it seems that players are starting to turn away from Arsenal and join other teams, as their lack of success is not what teams want to get involved with.
