Juventus and Italian legend Alessandro del Piero admits his former club will struggle to keep Chelsea target Paul Pogba past next summer.
Pogba was the subject of transfer interest from a host of major European clubs, including Chelsea.
But Juve held firm despite clubs offering £77million for the defensive midfielder, who left United for Turin in 2012.
However, Del Piero compared Pogba’s predicament as one Juventus had with Zinedine Zidane in 2001, when the club eventually backed down to Real’s £45.6m offer.
As quoted on the Sky Italia website, Del Piero said: “A player worth his weight in gold brings positives and negatives.
“Pogba is proving to be a player who has a great future and in this sense it is obvious that he costs so much and it is normal that you want him to be with you.
“The (Juventus) leaders will know what to do, there are situations that make it difficult to keep a player like that.”
