Chelsea are desperate to get Diego Costa off their wage bill, and they will be happy to hear that AC Milan are interested in signing the Spaniard.
Costa has been declared surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge despite being the Blues top scorer for two of the past three seasons and leading them to two Premier League title in three seasons. He had a very public falling out with Antonio Conte and the Italian revealed that the decision to axe him from his squad was taken in January when Costa flirted with the idea of moving to the Chinese Super League.
Alvaro Morata has since been signed to replace Costa, but the Blues have been struggling to find a buyer.
AC Milan is revolutionising their team and has made some eye-catching signings so far, but they believe Costa is the right player to be a Marquee signing before they close their cheque book for the summer.
Costa’s first choice is Atletico Madrid, but the Spaniards cannot make any addition to their team this summer because of their transfer ban.
AC Milan would like to get assurances from the troubled Costa that he would stay with them for at least one season before moving for him.
