Mamadou Sakho’s Liverpool nightmare will soon be over after reports this morning claim Italian side AS Roma have made contact with Liverpool over a possible deal. They join Premier League side Crystal Palace who have already reopened talks with the Reds.
However, Palace is looking for another loan deal after the Frenchman spent the second half of last season with them, but Liverpool is unwilling to allow him to leave temporarily again this summer.
Liverpool want at least £30 million for Sakho and they have quoted this figure to Roma, it is not clear if AS Roma are okay with the price or have been priced out of the deal at the moment. But Liverpool is hoping they return, as the Italians have shown readiness to splash the cash this summer, after making a large bid for Riyad Mahrez.
Sakho got on the wrong side of Jurgen Klopp last summer after appearing to break team rules before and during preseason. Many of the club’s fans were hoping the German manager would forgive him this summer, but Klopp seems to have made up his mind not to bring him back into his first team.
