After being rebuffed in their attempt to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, Juventus have decided to wait till January for the Germany international.
The Old Lady has been trying to sign Can since last summer but Liverpool has refused to negotiate as the German has become one of the most important players in their squad. But he has just one year left on his current deal and the Reds are keen on keeping hold of him.
There has been little progress made in negotiations so far but Liverpool is confident that he would stay.
However, Can appears to be holding on to the idea of running down his current deal and leaving the Reds for free next season.
Liverpool signed him for £8.5 million from Leverkusen 3 years ago, and they stand to make a profit of almost £22 million if they sell him this summer.
Can is one of Jurgen Klopp’s most trusted midfielders and has been proving his worth this season for the Reds.
Juventus President Beppe Moratta told reporters that Liverpool was not interested in negotiating with them for Can’s signature but they would open talks with the player in January when his current deal would be remaining just 6 months.
