Italian giants Juventus are reported to be planning to make a stunning swoop on Chelsea for the signature of Belgium international Thibaut Courtois.
The Turin outfit sees Courtois as the perfect replacement for Gianluigi Buffon who is set to retire from football at the end of the season.
Juve had hoped that former Arsenal number one Wojciech Szczesny would be able to step into Buffon shoes but he has largely disappointed and so they have now turned their attention towards Stamford Bridge.
For his part, Courtois is using the interest in his services to gain a significant wage rise from Chelsea, he is fairly content in West London and will not leave if the club makes him the highest paid keeper in the Premier League.
If they do not then all bets are off and the 25-year-old will start to listen to offers.
The ball is now in Chelsea’s court, either they give into Courtois wage demands or sell to Juventus.
