Manchester United did want to sign Arturo Vidal in the summer, according to club chief Giuseppe Marotta.
The Chilean midfielder has long been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, and rumours persisted that the Premier League giants would swoop for him in the summer.
But Juventus general manager Marotta has revealed the only reason the transfer didn’t go ahead.
As quoted on the Daily Mirror website, he said: “We didn’t want to give Vidal to Manchester United, end of story.
“Besides, our rapport with his agent Fernando Felicevich is good.”
