Italian Football’s David Schiavone believes that a huge offer like that of Tottenham Hotspur’s move for Erik Lamela will tempt Roma to sell Manchester United target Miralem Pjanic this summer.
The highly-rated young man has been linked with a move to United in the last few months, as they looks to add more creativity to his squad.
But Pjanic is in two minds over a move or agreeing a contract renewal with Serie A club Roma.
However, Forza Italian Football editor, Schiavone, told us exclusively that Roma boss Rudi Garcia is desperate to keep hold of Pjanic and that the Italian capital club want to add a £28m release clause in a new contract.
As quoted on the SportsDirectNews website, he said: “Miralem Pjanic has been linked with moves to Man United and PSG, though the French side seem more concrete in their interest.
“It was reported on Monday that they are lining up a bid with Javier Pastore, formally of Palermo, as a sweetener in the deal.
“However, from the information I have, Roma coach Rudi Garcia sees him as a key part of the future of the club and will rebuff any attempts to sign him.
“There are also whisperings of a new deal with a large buyout clause – £28m – for the player.”
