As preseason draws near, most teams are completing their transfer business. Manchester United are not being left out. The Red Devils have already brought in Swedish centre-half Victor Lindelof, but they want more.
According to Spanish media, Jose Mourinho is personally interested in signing former Barcelona defender, Marc Bartra. The Spaniard joined Borussia Dortmund last season and has made only 26 appearances for the German Cup winners, but Jose Mourinho believes he has the pedigree to play at Old Trafford.
Per the source, the Portuguese manager wants to add another defender to his ranks as he looks set to build a side capable of beating all comers next season.
Mourinho has a list of several defenders he wants to sign and is also willing to let the duo of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones leave Old Trafford.
A deal for Bartra would be complicated as the Germans have a new manager that may not be willing to allow one of the club’s best defenders leave.
Mourinho is also interested in signing Burnley’s Michael Keane after his performance for the Clarets last season.
