Rumours are flying around that Mesut Ozil is set to leave Arsenal for Man Utd in January but that is not what the United fans want, according to the British press.
Ozil has apparently been telling his Arsenal teammates that he is set for a move to Old Trafford and there are very good reasons to believe it may happen.
Ozil is out of contract next summer and Arsenal really have no choice but to get what they can for the German, especially considering that he has barely put in a decent performance for months, so a move looks an almost certainty once the January transfer window opens up.
But taking a look on Twitter and a number of negative comments are a bit of an eye-opener.
Ozil is clearly not highly regarded, his attitude is questioned left right and centre and he is seen as a lazy player that would not add anything extra to the existing United squad.
Ozil stature has really fallen since he arrived in North London in a blaze of publicity and the truth is that he only has himself to blame, he is not world class, never was and never will be and it is all down to his attitude on the field of play and nothing else.
One can hardly blame the United fans for not being overwhelmed at the prospect at 29-year-old moving to Manchester.
