Despite being one of the most admired footballers in the world, Christiano Ronaldo is not impressing Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
With reports this week claiming that the Portugal star will soon leave Real Madrid as a response to tax fraud charges being brought against him by the Spanish authorities, Mourinho has told Manchester United’s board that he is not interested in the World football of the year.
Per the source, he prefers to sign Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.
The Portuguese manager’s first choice was Atletico’s Antoine Griezmann, but they missed out on the French man after Atletico’s transfer ban was upheld.
Jose Mourinho considers the combination of Kane and Morata more deadly than the one-man-army of Christiano Ronaldo.
However, any deal that would take Kane to Old Trafford could break the world transfer record, as Daniel Levy is not interested in selling any of his star players, and he is a solid negotiator who seems to always get what he wants.
With Harry Kane costing as much as £100 million and Morata £60 million, the Red Devils who have already signed Swedish defender Victor Lindelof for £30 million may need to sell some of their stars to land the duo.
