Discontent is growing within the Manchester United dressing room over the treatment of Luke Shaw from manager Jose Mourinho, according to reports in the British media.
Shaw’s relationship with Mourinho has basically broken down despite the Portuguese maestro previously claiming that the defender is one of the best left-backs in the world.
The England international has got almost no start time under Mourinho and when he does, this weekends FA Cup win over Brighton being a good example, he still manages to come into criticism from the United manager.
Mourinho was seen ripping into Shaw on Saturday from the sidelines and then substituted the youngster at halftime, later claiming that United needed to “defend better”.
This treatment of Shaw, along with previous Mourinho comments, has resulted in some United players believing that the 22 year old is now being bullied by the manager, according to the Telegraph.
If this is true then it would spell bad news for Mourinho, players do not like to see their colleagues bullied, they will react and Mourinho does have previous when it comes to losing the dressing room over his treatment of players.
Will be interesting to see how this one plays out.
