Manchester united are desperate to get into the UEFA Champions League next season, and would do whatever it takes to get there, even if it means Prioritizing one competition over the other.
Last weekend’s frustrating goalless draw against West Brom has left United considering the surest route to Champions League qualification.
United face Everton, Sunderland and Anderlecht in their next three games and Mourinho has indicated that if the first two games puts them in a position that makes it “mathematically impossible” to enter the top four, he would have to start fielding a weaker team for the remaining league games, while putting his best in the Europa League.
Mourinho was left frustrated by his team’s lack of cutting edge in their draw against the impressive West Brom, after seeing his attacking players miss so many clean chances.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ander Herrera have both completed their suspensions and will be available for Tuesday’s game alongside Paul Pogba who has missed the last two matches through injury.
