According to the latest gossip Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho is using his influence with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to try and sign Alvaro Morata.
Apparently, Mourinho wants Perez to speak with the player and persuade him that a move to United would be in his best interest.
The biggest problem for Mourinho though is that Morata would prefer to move to Chelsea and not the Red Devils.
What may help out United is that their keeper David De Gea, is reportedly keen to return to Spain during the forthcoming transfer window, which may open up the possibility of some sort of swap deal.
A lot will depend on if Chelsea decides to make their own move for Morata, if they do and the player is determined to be reunited with Antonio Conte, then there is not too much Real Madrid or Man Utd can do about it.
No fee has been mentioned and a lot of different valuations have been thrown about, but it is likely to be in excess of £30 Million.
